As some one who has been in the health field for over 20 years, I've experienced a lot when it comes to the responsibilities of running the business end and the patient end of a successful office. Early on in practice it seemed that I went from one brush fire to the next, at best managing them while another one broke out. Luckily I was a big fan of seminars and over the years I got better at practice management and conflict resolution to ensure a smoothly running office. This by no means ended the headaches and it always required time and effort on my part to ensure the practice provided the best possible service to the clients/patients. I'll always remember the day, back in 1997, when I was sitting in a seminar in Las Vegas and first heard the concept of outsourcing. It was a radical idea for me at the time and a bit hard to initially embrace. I was so accustomed to being the main person and running the show. To turn over that responsibility to someone else was not an instinctual thing to do. Over the next several years I slowly incorporated more outsourcing and became a big fan of the entire concept. The key is to find reputable companies that take certain of your responsibilities and makes them their own. Because their livelihood relies on them performing this one job, they can focus on the completion of that task in a way that rarely can be done in an office setting. The better ones actually save you big money while providing you with a safe reliable service and no headaches. Seems like a no brainer and you know what? It is. That's why I'm blogging this particular company, it has all the components of a good company. Reliability, efficiency, and a tried and true track record. To have probably the biggest headache in the office, bill collecting, placed with an organization that knows how to get insurance companies and patients to pay what they owe is definitely an outstanding find and one that beckons to the sane and rational individual. No more worries of employee management or employees mismanaging, no more vacation days, no more sick days, no more workers comp. The list goes on and on and there is no down side compared to the unbelievable upside. This is truly a practice changing and life changing experience. Look into it and be prepared to be pleasantly impressed. Yours for a stress free practice environment, Dr. Tom Surro
